Hope Hospice and Community Services, Inc., (Fort Myers, FL)

Case Manager - Registered Nurse

Responsible for coordinating the care of patients and family members that are affected by end-of-life issues.  Performed direct patient assessments and collaborated with facility staff members and hospice team members to provide the best quality of life for patients during end-of-life.  Case Manager for Independent, ALF and SNF patients.  Performed direct care of patients in homes and facilities for wound care, IV therapy, immunizations and other skilled nursing services.

Cape Coral Police Dept. , Police Volunteer Unit, (Cape Coral, FL)

Volunteer Member - Performs routine patrols in marked police vehicles to enforce city ordinances for handicapped parking, fire lanes and other violations. Issues citations, warnings and interacts with the public for education of various ordinances. Directs traffic at vehicle crashes and other traffic problem areas.  Assists in training new members of the Unit.  Appears in court as necessary.  Also serves as event photographer for the department's Community Outreach group.

Prison Health Services,  Inc,

Director of Nurses, Lee County Detention Center, (Ft. Myers, FL) - 2001 to 2004

Director of Nurses for the medical department of a 1600-bed multi site detention complex for the Lee County Florida Sheriff's Office.   Responsible for recruitment, training and evaluation of the nursing staff of 25 members. (RN's and LPN's) Provided clinical direction for the staff and interfaces with outside providers to coordinate additional care for inmates.

Charge Nurse, Lee County Jail Medical Department - 2000 to 2001

Supervising Registered Nurse for the medical department of a 550-bed jail serving the Lee County Florida area.   Direct supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Technicians and Clerical staff to provide medical care for inmates at the facility. Conducted initial medical screening of all inmates being housed in the facility.  Assessed current medical problems and verifying any current medications or treatments to allow continuation of care while inmates are housed at the facility.  Resource person for computer training and problem resolution for the medical department and custody staff at the jail.

Northeast Nuclear Energy Company, (Waterford, CT)

Senior Employee Concerns Investigator/Representative

Member of the Employee Concerns Program servicing a three-reactor nuclear power station. Investigated all types of allegations and concerns from company employees, contractors, former employees and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Conducted investigations and prepared written reports, followed up on corrective actions established by investigation results and counseling employees and management on alternative methods of resolving problems.  Responsible for maintaining the Web Site for the program.  Updated and designed new pages and features to allow clients to access services electronically.

State of Connecticut Department of Correction

Correctional Nurse

Charge Nurse at two intake facilities in Bridgeport and New Haven.

Responsible for all aspects of inmate medical care. Responsible for triage and  emergency care for inmates arriving at the facilities. Served as Coordinator for Out Patient clinic for routine inmate problems.  Provided care for inmates in hospital section including care for peritoneal dialysis, post surgical, IV therapy, medical and psychiatric patients.  Performed administrative duties of scheduling staff assignments, training and inmate grievance resolution.

(Medical detoxification unit serving the Connecticut Capital Region)

Registered Nurse

Triage/Charge and Medication nurse for 35 bed in-patient detoxification center.  Monitored and medicated patients for detoxification from alcohol and heroin withdrawal.  Assessed patients for all current medical problems and implemented treatments.
